Stronger household capabilities and livelihoods
STRONGER HOUSEHOLDS. STRONGER LEARNING PATHWAYS.
Financial pressure at home can disrupt a learner’s education. Our Economic Empowerment and Community Strengthening programme works with caregivers, women and community groups to build capabilities that support household resilience. The pathway connects financial literacy, savings, enterprise readiness, livelihood skills, peer learning and community participation.
STRENGTHENING LIVELIHOODS AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Financial literacy help participants understand income, expenses and household priorities. Group savings and shared learning create opportunities to plan, exchange experience and build confidence in financial decisions.
The programme also connects livelihood skills with local enterprise opportunities. Traditional milk-gourd production is one example of an activity that draws on community knowledge and home-based production. Market information and local networks can help participants explore demand and strengthen their business decisions.
Self-help groups provide more than an economic platform. They offer encouragement, peer learning and a way to address shared challenges. By strengthening the capabilities of caregivers and community groups, the programme seeks to create more stable support around learners.
